What the brand is
The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation formed in 1982 for the purpose of promoting and developing tourism in the Maldives. More than four decades on, a key function is coordinating with government policy-making bodies to align new laws, regulations and guidelines with industry best practice; it also represents the industry internationally and locally, organises research, and provides consultation. Its stated aim: make Maldives the world leader in sustainable tourism.
