Associations & Institutions

Industry bodies, professional associations, member organisations, NGOs and diplomatic missions.

The shape of it here

An association's brand is borrowed by everyone it represents. Its logo appears on members' websites, on conference banners, on certificates, on government submissions and in the press — applied by hundreds of people who never saw the guidelines. Drift is the default condition.

And an association is a custodian by nature. The body that represents an entire industry, or an entire profession, should be the one organisation whose own record — its name, its history, its mark, its domain — is beyond question.

What we usually find

  • The master logo exists only as a large PNG on the website; members download it and redraw it
  • The page title is "Home" and the shared-link image is an event graphic rather than the brand
  • Members and partners use three generations of the logo simultaneously
  • Event sub-brands — awards, conferences, anniversaries — each with their own identity, none related to the parent
  • The domain and social handles registered to a past secretary-general or a volunteer
  • Decades of institutional photography with no record of who took it or who may use it

What we do about it

  • Master artwork remastered as live vectors and published as a proper brand kit members can download
  • Event and programme sub-brands brought under one architecture — the awards look like the association's awards
  • Listings, profiles and the knowledge panel corrected so the body's own record is authoritative
  • Domains, handles and files moved to the institution's own entity with a documented handover for each change of office-holders
  • An Asset Register that survives the next AGM

Pillars that matter most: Ⅱ Brand Alignment → Ⅲ Digital Assets → Ⅰ Branding
